Introducing: Recess Press

Recess Press is a motivated band of six young printmakers living and working in Minneapolis. We are accomplished alumni of the University of Minnesota Art Department working in lithography, screen printing, etching, and woodblock techniques. Since graduating and having attempted to make prints in basements and garages and with automobiles, we are aware of emerging printmakers’ need for affordable space and equipment. As a collective, we are joining our funds and experience to provide access to a democratic print shop as well as education for Minneapolis’ growing printmaking community.

This summer Recess had its first studio events, on-site printing parties, and art fairs- there will be much more to come this fall season.
